About
Dima Yaroshenko is a Ukrainian actor of film and theatre. A graduate of the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, he spent more than a decade as a leading actor of the Dakh Contemporary Arts Centre under Vlad Troitskyi, performing over twenty roles — from Sophocles' Oedipus and the Shakespearean cycle "Ukraine Mystical" to "Ukrainian Decameron" — and touring stages across Ukraine and Europe.
On screen, he is best known for his lead role as poet Vasyl Stus in "Forbidden (Censored)", which brought him the Best Actor award at the Kinolitopys International Film Festival (2020), along with roles in "Dissident" (world premiere at the Torino Film Festival), "Julia Blue", "Brama", "Lethal Kittens" and others.
Beyond acting, Dima writes poetry and texts for theatre, wrote lyrics for the music project StereOrpheo, narrates audiobooks, and works with video and photography, alongside independent directing experiments.
